EMERALD COAST SHARKS 🦈

The Gulf of America is home to roughly 50 species of sharks with 20 to 30 species often encountered locally by beachgoers and fishermen. There are over 350 species world wide and the diversity of shark species in the Gulf highlights its rich marine ecosystem.

Some of the more common or notable shark species found in the Gulf include:

  • Atlantic Sharpnose Shark: One of the most common and generally small sharks.

  • Blacktip Shark: Known for leaping out of the water.

  •  Spinner Shark: Similar to blacktips, also known for spinning.

  • Bull Shark: Can tolerate varying salinities and are often found in shallower, coastal waters and even estuaries.

  • Tiger Shark: Large, opportunistic predators.

  • Hammerhead Sharks: recognized by their distinctive head shape.

  • Nurse Shark: Bottom-dwellers, generally docile.

  • Lemon Shark: Often found in coastal areas.

  • Sandbar Shark: Common in sandy bottom areas.

  • Shortfin Mako: An oceanic, fast-swimming species. •

  • Great White Shark: While less common, great whites do migrate into the Gulf during cooler months.

Meet CARLOS the Chihuahua Mix

Hi! My name is CARLOS!

This 18-month-old, 9-pound Chihuahua mix is ready to leave his past behind and start a new chapter—with you! Carlos is a small pup with a big personality and the cutest underbite you’ve ever seen. His soulful eyes and gentle heart make him impossible not to fall in love with. He’s a total sweetheart who adores kids, gets along great with other dogs, and is even cat-friendly—making him the perfect addition to just about any family.
While he’s still working on his potty training, Carlos is making great progress.
He’s eager to please and thrives on positive reinforcement (and belly rubs!).
When he’s not playing or exploring, Carlos loves nothing more than curling up next to his favorite human. He’s a world-class cuddler and would be thrilled to spend his days snuggled by your side. He also enjoys car rides—his favorite spot is right on the center console, where he can take in the sights while staying close to you.
Carlos is ready to give all his love to a forever family. Could that be you?
