Pensacola’s #1 Newsletter

If you're itching for some adventure, we're here to help you stumble upon the finest local festivities, those tucked-away treasures, and every bit of excitement stirring in our community. It’s the perfect way to truly get to know the heart of our home, Pensacola.

QUICK. FREE. INFORMATIVE.

Morning P’Cola!

Good morning, P’Cola neighbors and friends!

I hope this finds you with a cool breeze at your back as we settle into these glorious May afternoons. Do keep an eye on the horizon. The 2026 Atlantic hurricane season is fast approaching and while we pray for calm waters, it never hurts to be prepared. This year’s list of names is already out—ranging from Arthur and Bertha to Sally and Teddy. Let’s hope those names stay strictly on the paper and away from our shores!

In the meantime, our hearts are swelling with pride as we kick off Pensacola Navy Days. It’s time to honor the brave men and women who call NAS Pensacola home. If you see a sailor in town, do lean in and offer a warm "thank you" for their honorable service.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the P’Cola Mom’s - we sure do appreciate you! You’ve been the calm in the storm and the heart of this family. Thank you for raising us with enough grace to know better and enough grit to do better.

As we look toward the week ahead, I wish you nothing but sunshine, good neighbors, and the kind of peace only a Gulf Coast sunset can provide.

See ya out there.

COMMUNITY & COUNTY NEWS

  • NAS Pensacola Reopens: Beginning this past May 5, 2026, NAS Pensacola has resumed public access seven days a week from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

  • Beulah Regional Park is officially back open and looking better than a blue ribbon at the Fair! They’ve gone and added a brand-new splash pad to keep the young’uns cool and some fancy pickleball courts for the rest of us. Check it out at Beulah Regional Park .

  • Sea Turtle Season: Nesting season officially began on May 1st. It’s a labor of love, y'all. Volunteers are out there daily on Pensacola Beach and Perdido Key, patrolling the dunes and the shoreline looking for nesting’s and other sea turtle activity. (Daily patrols on Pensacola Beach and Perdido Key). Lights Out: Bright lights can disturb nesting sea turtles and disorient adults and hatchlings on the beach. When visiting the beach after dark, keep cell phones and flashlights off. Instead, use a red flashlight or no light at all. For beachfront homes, turn off exterior lights when not in use and keep blinds and curtains shut after sunset.

  • Fire Danger: Escambia County Fire Rescue has issued warnings regarding outdoor burning due to dry conditions.

  • Renovations at Perdido Kids Park The dust is finally flyin' over at Perdido Kids Park as the crews started haulin' in brand-new playground gear this week. We’re fixin' to have ourselves a grand reopening this July—provided the Florida weather cooperates!

MARCH FORECAST

Get ready to soak it up, Pensacola! You can turn off your sprinklers for a day or 3. We start off with a few refreshing raindrops and weekend thunder to keep the gardens happy, don't worry—the sun is fixin' to come out!

We’re lookin’ at a beautiful clearing early in the week with nothing but bright, sunny smiles and gorgeous partly cloudy skies. With temperatures climbing from a comfortable 72°F all the way to a perfect 82°F.

CITY EVENTS - CALENDAR

2026 ATLANTIC OCEAN ~ Hurricane Season

Seasonal Forecast Outlook: Initial forecasts from Colorado State University (CSU) point toward a season that's a bit quieter than usual, largely because of an emerging El Niño pattern.

The 2026 Atlantic hurricane season officially runs from June 1st through November 30th. We’re hopin' for clear skies and calm waters, especially with the 'below-average' prediction below, but now’s the time to get your kits ready just in case!

  • Named Storms: 12–14

  • Hurricanes: 5–7

  • Major Hurricanes: 1–3

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) oversees this named storm list, recycling the names every six years. However, names of particularly destructive or fatal storms are retired from use (Leah joins the 2026 rotation as a replacement for Laura, which was retired after 2020).

PENSACOLA REAL ESTATE

Introducing, Red Feather, premier luxury homes by Rothfeder Real Estate, downtown Pensacola’s latest urban living mini community. The project is a collection of 11 luxury townhomes designed to offer a "low-maintenance, high-style" lifestyle with a 32502 zip code.

Red Feather is positioned just one block off Palafox Street. The project coincides with the city’s 2026 infrastructure overhaul, which is widening sidewalks and adding 42 new trees to the corridor, directly increasing the property's "curb appeal" and long-term value.

The developer emphasized "Gulf Coast resilience" offering solid concrete block (CMU) for storm surge protection and sound dampening. The exterior is a sophisticated mix of brick, stucco, and Hardie fiber cement. All residences feature impact-rated windows, engineered for hurricane-force winds while maintaining a high-end wood interior finish. All have commercial-grade TPO flat roofing, known for its longevity and energy efficiency in the Florida sun.

These three-story residences lean heavily into the "Chef's Kitchen" and "Smart Home" trends. Standard units include Viking appliances, 10-foot custom cabinetry, and designer quartz countertops. Every home includes a developer credit for a PVE37 air-powered elevator, a sleek, space-saving vacuum elevator that eliminates the need for a bulky hoist way. Layouts include 3 to 5 bedrooms with roughly 2,250 to 3,200 sq. ft. of living space. The gated community includes a private, irrigated dog park. As of early 2026, the project is under active construction with several units already pre-sold.

  • Entry Price: Approx. 2,250 sq. ft. start around $1.3 Mil.

  • Premium Units: Approx. 3,200+ sq. ft. are listed as high as $2.1 Mil.

  • HOA: $267/month ($3,200 annually) which is relatively low for luxury downtown living; covers grounds maintenance, pest control, and common area insurance. Would you like to tour a home?
