HAPPY GROUND HOG DAY - Almost!

Happy Groundhog Day, Sunday Feb 2nd, is upon us! This is the day where a rodent, the same sneaky fur-ball who undermines my lawn, gets to decide our fate for warm weather. If he sees his shadow, are we are stuck in winter's ice cold-grip for another six weeks⁉️ If he doesn’t see his shadow, are we able to shed the layers of surf shop sweatshirts we’ve been sporting to stay warmL⁉️ It’s kinda like asking your uncle for a weather report and getting a shrug and, “I dunno, it’s either gonna rain or it won’t.”

National Groundhog Day

February 2nd, 2025

An unofficial (copied from Canada) made up day, February 2nd, celebrates the groundhog and if it sees its shadow, it will return to its burrow, indicating that there will be six more weeks of winter. If it does not see its shadow, then spring is on the way.

Pen-snow-cola Pirates stepped up (or sledded out) for a snowy photo competition ☃️

PENSACOLA PIRATES played hard in the snow! Over 50 photos captured the fun and have been submitted for a drawing. Voting closes this Friday at noon, and the lucky winners of "Best Pen-snow-cola Pirate" photo will be announced at 4PM. Visit the Pensacola State College FB page;  Pen-snow-cola Pirates. Top 5 winners will receive exclusive PSC swag from the College’s Marketing team, and ALL participants will get a Pensacola State Pirates beanie to proudly wear the next time Pensacola turns into a winter wonderland!
