PUBLIC HEARING 🇺🇸: GULF OF AMERICA

SAVE THE DATE 🗓️: 10 July

On Thursday, July 10 at 5:30pm on the first floor of the Ernie Lee Magaha Government Building and at the Board of County Commissioners meeting. The public hearing will offer local residents the chance to share feedback on the proposed name change to Gulf of America, as it applies to county ordinances.

In April this year, Governor DeSantis's proposed an executive order and subsequent legislative actions to rename the "Gulf of Mexico" as the "Gulf of America" in state laws and textbooks. The change would affect many county ordinances that currently refer to the "Gulf of Mexico," including those related to Perdido Key, dog parks, and littering.
