NOW YOU KNOW ✅: Last week, FloridaCommerce announced that the Pensacola metro area had the fastest over the year job growth rate in professional and business services among all metro areas in May 2025.

• The Pensacola metro area added 1,700 jobs (+1.0%) in the private sector over the year in May 2025.

• The industry gaining the most jobs over the year in May 2025 was education and health services, adding 1,000 jobs.

• The Pensacola area labor force was up 106 (<+0.1%) over the year in May 2025.

• The Pensacola area’s unemployment rate was 3.8% in May 2025, a 0.5 percentage point increase from the May 2024 rate of 3.3%.

NEW! - RIDESHARE APP FOR PENSACOLA 🚐

Escambia County Area Transit (ECAT) just launched a rideshare app called FlexTransit. This app provides an affordable, on-demand shared ride service within Escambia County, Florida.

The service is a pilot program funded for one year, with the potential for extension based on its success. Users can book rides through the FlexTransit app by specifying their desired pickup and drop-off locations. FlexTransit also connects passengers to the nearest fixed-route bus stop. 

The app is the primary payment method, cash payments are also accepted, though drivers require exact fare and cannot make change. 

• Monday through Saturday

• 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM. 

• Cost: $2.50

• You can download the FlexTransit app from the App Store or Google Play.
