ESCAMBIA COUNTY OFFERS FREE SAND

Escambia County Sand Locations Bring your shovel and your bags!

Escambia County is offering sand for residents living in flood-prone areas. The sand is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and locations are open 24 hours a day. Residents must bring their own sandbags and shovels.

NEWS FLASH: POTENTIAL FEMA PROGRAM REVISIONS 🇺🇸

Recent news reports indicate the Trump administration plans to cut or even eliminate FEMA's budget and responsibilities. Any changes won’t begin until after the 2025 hurricane season. The changes could involve:

  • Reducing FEMA's workforce

  • Decreasing funding for disaster relief and mitigation programs

  • Shifting more disaster response responsibilities to state and local governments. 

  • Budget cuts

  • The elimination of the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program, which provides funding for projects like flood mitigation.
