Summer break is officially ½ over. Sigh. The year 2025 is also ½ over. Sigh. What’s to look forward to for the 2nd half of summer? Red, White & Blue’s Week! See the Blue Angels fly Wednesday, July 9th - Thursday, July 10th. and the entire Air Show Friday and Saturday over Pensacola Beach.

We’ve also got another Bands on the Beach Tuesday evening, a New Speeder Law in effect, along with a few new road closures to be aware of before you get stuck in the traffic. And, coming up soon is the Vintage Fest 2025 at the Pensacola Fairgrounds.

TRAFFIC RE-ROUTED - Heads Up!

REMINDER: 2 stormwater projects begin Monday, July 7

A two-block portion of Main St., as well as B Street between Main St. and Zarragossa St., will close. The closure is part of a flood mitigation project, with crews installing new stormwater piping. Construction on Main Street is expected to be complete by Friday, Sept. 5, weather permitting. B Street is expected to remain closed for an additional 20 days. https://cvcpl.us/MU4OXUz

Phase 1 of the 12th Avenue at Fairfield Drive Drainage Improvement Project is set to begin. This infrastructure upgrade aims to enhance stormwater management and mitigate flooding in the area by installing larger stormwater pipes. 12th Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Fairfield Drive and Barcia Drive for approximately 40 days. https://cvcpl.us/rC2sPcu

NEW - FL’s SUPER SPEEDER LAWS 🚔

Florida's House bill 351, the New "Super Speeder" law, went into effect on July 1, 2025, and increases penalties for drivers exceeding 50 mph over the speed limit or driving 100 mph or more. The law imposes potential jail time and fines for excessive speeding, with repeat offenders facing even harsher penalties, including potential license suspension. Here are a few examples of how it could work:

• If a driver is caught going 70 mph in a 30 mph zone, they could be charged with dangerous excessive speeding. 

• If a driver is caught going 110 mph in a 65 mph zone, they could also be charged with dangerous excessive speeding. 

• A driver convicted of speeding 50 mph over the limit twice in five years could lose their license for six months. 

• If an accident occurs as a result of the excessive speed, the driver could face civil penalties, including hefty fines.

VINTAGE FEST 2025

Pensacola Vintage Fest is just one week away!! Sunday from 11-5pm at the @pensacolafair. 75 booths of vendors of men's, women's, and children's vintage clothing all at one spot. All styles and genres will be well represented from the 1950s-Y2k.

In addition to vintage vendors: Live DJ's, food trucks, and coffee!
