SNOW IN PCOLA ☃️

Mother nature smashed the record for snow fall in Pensacola this week. The official total from the National Weather Service Mobile was 7.6 inches of snow. The unbelievable, surreal amount of snow blanketed our beloved beach town this week and coated 6-9'“ in nearby areas. Near blizzard conditions, a once in a lifetime storm. No plows, No salt trucks, power outages, temps in the teens. Snow shovel? Gloves? Say that one more time? Not sure I heard correct. We are in PCOLA, Florida, yes?

SNOW DAY - City of Pensacola Winter Storm Closures, Cancellations, and Conditions

4:30 p.m. Update Thursday 1/23/25: 

Dangerous road conditions will occur tonight as temperatures drop below freezing and melted ice begins to refreeze, forming black ice on roadways. Residents are urged to use extreme caution and avoid driving late this evening unless absolutely necessary. 

Subfreezing temperatures may begin around 9 p.m., Jan. 23 and continue through 8 a.m., Jan. 24. Black ice is nearly impossible to see. Therefore, it is advised to use extreme caution and avoid driving if possible.

City of Pensacola offices and facilities will remain closed and continue operating at a reduced capacity Friday, Jan. 24, due to road conditions. The city will return to normal business operations Monday, Jan. 27. The closure includes the following city facilities:

 City of Pensacola Road Closures (subject to change):

  • Creighton Road and Christy Drive 

  • Bayou Boulevard between Inverness Drive and Windermere Drive

  • Palafox Street and Garden Street (right lane, eastbound)

  • L Street and Cervantes Street (eastbound)
