FAT TUESDAY 🎭

Join up at Seville Quarter for Pensacola's Favorite Mardi Gras Event! A full day of festivities awaits. The festive day celebrated in France on Shrove Tuesday (the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday) marks the close of the pre-Lenten season.

NOW YOU KNOW ✅: The French name Mardi Gras means Fat Tuesday, from the custom of using all the fats in the home before Lent in preparation for fasting and abstinence.

FAT TUESDAY EVENTS

• Jazz Royalty Brunch: A Mardi Gras menu, low country boil, and Bloody Mary Specials starting at 11 AM 

• Live entertainment: Starting at 5 PM 

• Awards and Coronation Ceremony: At 7 PM, the new Priscus King and Queen will be crowned 

• Drag Show: At 8 PM by Polkadot Entertainment 

Other festivities Food trucks, Dancing and partying, and Krewe’s taking over rooms in Seville Quarter. 

WORLDS LARGEST REEF 🚢

The Steam Ship United States has made it’s way to the Gulf of America and headed up the Mobile Bay. The grand ship will rest in AL for a year before it reaches a final destination off of Okaloosa county shores next year.

Once the fastest ocean liner, the ship is soon to become known as the “largest reef” when buried at sea nearby Destin and Fort Walton Beaches. A museum and visitor center will be built to honor the ship and display interesting artifacts.

The 990’ ship will be added to a collection of manmade reefs that support fishing and scuba diving along the Emerald Coast. We’ve got a year to go before the big event of homing the ship offshore. Until then, it will be docked in Mobile, AL prepping for a safe burial.
