Today is National Farm Animal Day reminding us to re-home and adopt unwanted farm animals. Hop On and Hop Off bus for a 5 ⭐️ tour of P'COLA. And coming up, a Free Tree Raffle in honor of Arbor Day. The 2nd annual Gulf Coast Whale Festival is this weekend and the honored guests are arriving early! Pretty exciting to have whale sightings several times this week off of Okaloosa Island and Destin beaches. See below for a brief description of what to expect at the festival.

“Models and images of Gulf whales will be on display, including the Rice’s whale—one of the world’s rarest and most endangered animals. Educational exhibits and activities will tell the story of Gulf whales and marine life, and a puppet parade led by local artists will showcase the ecology of the Gulf. Sweet sounds will flow from the Gulfside Pavilion with live music by Pensacola singer-songwriters, including the debut of “Ode to the Rice’s whale”.” -Gulf Coast Whale Festival

HOP ON HOP OFF BUS 🚍

Go Retro! THE HOP ON HOP OFF BUS is running THUR/FRI/SAT this week! Have visitors in town? For a great way to see Pensacola, try the Hop-on, Hop-off Tour. Fully narrated, the tour includes 14 stops to explore different areas of interest.  Be sure to check the calendar for specific tours and specific dates.

ARBOR DAY & TREE GIVE AWAY 🌳

The City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a tree planting ceremony to recognize National Arbor Day at Hitzman-Optimist Park. Six 15-gallon shade trees will be raffled off to residents in attendance.

The City of Pensacola is proud to be recognized as a Tree City USA Community by the Arbor Day Foundation for its commitment to effective urban forest management. For more information about Arbor Day and the Tree City USA program, visit arborday.org.
