The hummingbirds and tourists are flocking to the NW FL once again! I have yet to see a bird but I have seen many Ohio Spring Breakers. Woohoo! Mayor Reeves is requesting funds, not friends, to maintain our parks, and won’t you consider adopting a PUP in P’COLA?

HUMMINGBIRDS & TOURISTS FLOCKING TO THE EMERALD COAST 🐦‍⬛

It’s that time again, the Gulf Coast becomes a swarming paradise for two kinds of visitors; hummingbirds and tourists. The hummingbirds are up early and out late, making a quick pit stop at every feeder and flower, their tiny wings beating faster than a human heart. Meanwhile, tourists, still shaking off the sand from their beach day, do the same—stopping for every selfie, every fish taco, and filling every available parking spot.

From early March to late September, hummingbird’s are welcomed. (Not that tourists are not). Some hummingbirds remain in Florida all year round but most head south like snowbirds for the winter. Males arrive back in Florida first followed by females about a week later. Hummingbirds are a true sign of spring and will start nesting in April, preferring to build their nests over water. Welcome home.

PENSACOLA PARK FUND REQUEST 💰

Pensacola’s Mayor Reeves is requesting a park fund request, kind of like a friend request (only this involves money not camaraderie), in the amount of $20mil. The funds would be designated to maintain and update the facilities and grounds of over 94 Pensacola parks over the next few years; benches, bathrooms, parking lots and play grounds are just a few of the areas to be addressed.
