HOW TO NAVIGATE P’COLA TRAFIC 🛣️

The hustle and bustle of traffic in and around Pensacola has thickened with the onset of tourists and slowed with the rain. Navigating construction and accidents appears to be a daily grind. Luckily, we sourced Four Cool Tools to help you navigate through, around and beyond any traffic issues.

NOW YOU KNOW ✅: There are 50 FDOT Cameras canvassing the streets capturing live scenes of the road traffic at any moment. First source the Map, next choose the camera, then be sure to click on live video at the top. Voila! you will see the road or intersection live!

NOW YOU KNOW ✅: FDOT also publishes traffic updates through social media platforms like Twitter and the WAZE mobile application to expand the reach of our traveler information efforts to the community including Facebook, Instagram, X, and YouTube accounts.

NOW YOU KNOW ✅:The 511 Traveler Information System delivers real-time traffic alerts 24/7, helping users stay informed and avoid delays. Commuters can access 511 by logging onto www.fl511.com.

HERricane ESCAMBIA 🌀

I can’t help but think Michael and Ivan when I think hurricane. But HERricane is such a great play on words! This hurricane is a girls camp known as HERricane ESCAMBIA. and is accepting applications. The week long camp program was established in Virginia “to help rethink and improve outreach and engagement around emergency preparedness. This camp is a part of the movement to empower women and bring greater diversity to the emergency management profession”.

Here’s an APPLICATION. HERrricane is FREE ✅ 

Qualified applicants will be admitted on a "rolling" basis:

• Applied: February 3rd - February 28th / Notification of acceptance: March 10th

• Applied: February 28th - March 28th / Notified: April 7th

BIKING P’COLA 🚴‍♀️

Biking P’Cola on designated bikes routes could turn into an unofficial tour of Pensacola. Slow, casual rides through quaint neighborhoods while exploring on by pedal power allows you to get outside and close up views as you DISCOVER P’COLA’S local, hidden gems.  

UPTOWN CREIGHTON - An easy 3.9 mile ride through residential neighborhoods.

South of CREIGHTON - An easy 3.9 mile ride through residential neighborhoods.

Uptown to Downtown -A 9.3 mile route that takes riders between Uptown and downtown while avoiding heavy foot traffic.

FDOT Bike Routes - A variety of bike paths along major roadways for the biking enthusiast.
